Student Video Contest Winners!

And  the winners are...
1st Place

1st Place: Julio Sanchez, “Cosumnes CSD”
Cosumnes River College, Elk Grove.

2nd Place

2nd Place: Zachary Almand & Jakobie Rhodes “A Walk in California"
Pleasant Valley HS, Chico.

3rd Place

Julio Sanchez is the winner of the CSDA’s Annual Student Video Contest and the $2,000 first-place scholarship prize. Julio’s video highlighted the Cosumnes Community Service District in Elk Grove, California to show how special districts ‘Make the Difference’ for their communities. Julio’s winning video not only displayed a clear understanding of special districts, but also featured informative interviews with real special district employees, and showcased expert-level filming and post-production audiovisual techniques.

 

The 2nd place winners and recipients of the $1,000 scholarship prize are Zachary Almand & Jakobie Rhodes, students at Pleasant Valley High School in Chico. Zachary and Jakobie featured the Chico Area Recreation & Park District in their video that challenged people to ‘get out there and play.'

 

The 3rd place winner and recipient of the $500 prize is Jordan Chan, a student at Mission Hills High School in San Marcos whose uniquely animated video was unlike any other entry.

 

Congratulations to all the winners!

 

Thank you to everyone who watched the student-made videos and voted for their favorites. The California Special Districts Association and the Districts Make the Districts campaign also thank you to each of the students who entered the contest for the time and effort it took to create a video aimed at increasing understanding and awareness of special districts in California.
