Top art chosen for water poster contest
Las Virgenes Municipal Water District has selected its top 25 water-wise drawings from this year’s Water Awareness Poster Contest submissions.
Submissions were received from over 2,000 K-12 students throughout the district.
For the first time, LVMWD is encouraging the public to share which poster drawings they’d like to see featured in the district’s 2017 water awareness desktop calendar by visiting Facebook.com/LVMWD and “liking” their favorite finalists.

The deadline for voting is Fri., April 15. Go to Las Virgenes Municipal Water Facebook page to see the posters!
Using Facebook “likes” as a reference, the district board of directors will select 12 finalists based on, but not limited to, best expression of theme, originality and creativity and visual clarity.
These finalists will have their artwork displayed in the 2017 desktop calendar and receive personalized
T-shirts and tote bags at an official awards ceremony during National Drinking Water Month in May.
The district will also submit five finalists from this group to be considered for Metropolitan Water District of Southern California’s 2017 “Water Is Life” student art calendar, which will be distributed to 11,000 recipients across the region.
The annual Water Awareness Poster Contest is one of the district’s educational programs that seek to instill lifelong water conservation practices in youth.
